Celebrating a Local Champion: St. Augustine Distillery Wins "2024 Distillery of the Year" Bubble Cap Award
Sing Out Loud Festival is thrilled to extend a heartfelt congratulations to St. Augustine Distillery for being awarded the prestigious 2024 Bubble Cap Award by the American Distilling Institute (ADI). This recognition, which names them the "Distillery of the Year," is a true testament to their exceptional work in the craft spirits industry.
The Bubble Cap Award, introduced in 2010, honors the top distillery globally for excellence in spirits quality, innovation, transparency, authenticity, growth, and community involvement. This award is especially significant because it comes from ADI, the largest small-batch, independently-owned craft distilling association in the world. To be even considered for this award, a distillery must be independently owned, distill its own products, and produce less than 100,000 proof gallons annually—criteria that highlight the unique and artisanal nature of the St. Augustine Distillery.
During a ceremony on Tuesday, Aug 27 in Baltimore, Maryland, ADI President Erik Owens presented this prestigious award to St. Augustine Distillery co-founders Philip McDaniel & Mike Diaz and VP of Production Ric deMontmollin. The award celebrates not only their success in producing world-class spirits but also their contributions to tourism, their impact on the craft spirits community, and their work in legislation to support craft distillers.
