Norah Jones: Tiny Desk Concert
Over 20 years after the release of her breakthrough song Come Away With Me, Norah Jones finally graced the Tiny Desk stage, just in time to build anticipation for her headlining Sing Out Loud this September. “I finally made it to Tiny Desk,” Norah said with excitement during her performance. It's hard to believe that this was her first official Tiny Desk appearance, despite her solo home concert which was released during the pandemic.
Norah shared tracks from her newest album, Visions, a collaboration with producer and musician Leon Michels, and her 9th studio album. Visions is a bright and inviting compilation of songs that unites all kinds of influence from her expansive career. Pulling inspiration from folk and pop elements, as well as from her jazz background, it’s an instant reminder of why she has been a fan-favorite for so long. Each song showcasing her calm vocals and ability to blend styles seamlessly.
Ending the performance with Come Away With Me, a reimagined version of the classic tune that introduced us to Norah in 2002, she brought a dreamy and fresh interpretation of the title track from her debut album. For those who have followed her journey, this is a reminder of why we fell in love with her music in the first place. For new listeners, it's a perfect introduction to an artist who has mastered the art of blending genres and emotions effortlessly. In the course of building her expansive catalog, she has racked up billions of streams, nine Grammy awards and collaborations with artists like Herbie Hancock, Willie Nelson, and Foo Fighters.
We could not be more excited to welcome her to St. Augustine for the Sing Out Loud “Live Wildly Showcase” on September 22. Join us to experience the magic of Norah Jones live!
